"Every time I get the chance
to go to one of their shows, it seems there is an ever-growing
following of dedicated fans. Not just sipping brews and bobbing
their heads either, I mean these cats make you feel the music
in your bones. They are driven by passion for the art that they
produce on stage, and their presence is just as intense as any
fire I've set to a stack of pallets in the desert. I could say
that Day One Project ROCKS, but that would be an understatement!"

Biography
This is the beginning, the birth of a new display of emotion.
Day One Project is a representation of musical style put forth
by four musicians set in the pursuit of overcoming. Driven by
creativity, fueled by melody, their music is for every age, race,
and gender. With the hope to be the most honest example of what
life is like in their eyes.
Singer Scott Sorenson, drummer Chris Eck, bassist Javier Gardeazabal,
and guitarist Adrian Murguia display their sincerest passions
for music with their debut album "The Difference Between
Now and Then", produced by Miguel Martinez, whos credits
include Alien Ant Farms album, "Greatest Hits".
This album is about overcoming situations, and finding the path
through even the worst of pains in your life, says Scott,
"With the influences and feelings I gain from the raw sound
we portray, it has only pushed me into trying to convey my deepest
of emotions." Feeding on past experiences and heart breaks,
he has the formula that gives people the sense of togetherness,
songs that people can relate to.
Day One Project, began their musical endeavors together while
meeting in middle school, in there home town of Corona, California.
Adrian and Scott had kept a long distance relationship, only seeing
one another a few weeks out of the year during the summer after
Adrian moved to Indiana. Scott had met Chris at school and found
out that they both played instruments. They jammed a few times
together playing Sepultura and Metallica songs. That next summer
Adrian came back from Indiana to visit his father, and the three
came together for the first time. "That next year was incredible,"
says Adrian. "Scott and Chris would call me every week and
show me songs over the phone they had written, then when I came
down the next year, we basically had an album of our own to play."
Through their dedication and love for sound, at the age of 17
the band finally came together when Adrian moved back to California
to live with his father. They met Javier through mutual friends
and asked if he would play bass for the band. He added a unique
style that made the band even more diverse.
Day One Project pursued many other styles of music from hip hop
to Latin, still keeping in mind those songs they had never decided
to be their true sound. Then in January of 2001 the four decided
to start something new. To bring back their sound from their childhood
and to make all options open in music. Scott had never sang in
a band before but decided to try his best for their new beginning.
They began writing song after song. "I remember every time
I would show up at Chris's house and would have to learn a new
song, and that was practically every day." The band put together
a four song demo and started playing shows all over southern California.
They averaged two shows a week for a few months. In October of
2002 the four were offered a spot on a television pilot called
The Buzz, a show dedicated to local unsigned artists. They invited
Miguel Martinez, a long time friend to watch them play. "I
knew this was something I had to get involved with, so then and
there I knew I had to help these guys get a good sounding recording."
Two weeks after the show, they began pre-production on their album.
Through months of difficult unexpected turns. From having to borrow
equipment to borrowing other artists studios, the 12 song
independent album came alive. Their masterpiece was finally done.
This is the time to share their lives with passion and sincerity.
To provoke that thing in everyone that is still asleep. To pull
together that shattered idea, that everyone alive has the same
hardships, and to overcome them. Music is a key to life and they
hope to unlock it
