In October of 2001 a sociological / music phenomena that would shake the foundation of US Drums n’ Bass scene forever was created. Dubbed “New York’s Favorite Live Performance Drums N’ Bass Act”, Phree Nugz was a project created by Syntax Era.

Phree Nugz’s sound is a perfect combination of psychedelic-dance floor and Drum and Bass drive, and higher tempo I.D.M and Jungle influences. While together and individually incorporating pieces of almost the entire scope music history in to one set. Just about anything from the past 2000 years of music can find itself melted into the irie jungle / drums n’ bass structure of their music. This allows for a live performance that's as improvisational as the Grateful Dead, and far more interesting than any two turntables.

A powerful following and association with ganja Mecca’s such as Hightimes Magazine and www.VirtualOm.com has put this duo along side some of the words greatest Jungle / Drums N’ Bass producers such as Aphrodite, Ak1200, DB, Dara, Danny The Wild Child, Odi, Freaky Flow, Phantom 45, to name just a few. They have released 2 live albums to date, Fat Stash V.1, V. 2, and are presently working on future collaborations with Hightimes Magazine, Virtualom as both Phree Nugz and solo projects. The first of these projects is slated to include the official of release their signature live anthem “I Wanna Get Stoned”, a remix of Beatles super star John Lennon’s good friend and musical partner David Peel's original marijuana classic “I Like Marijuana”.

One thing is for sure… this guy comes ready for action with a revolutionary live show unparalleled by any other! Be it a 50 X 100 foot screen with live mind sucking visuals or 5 foot joints attached to smoke machines these guys are sure to light up a crowd and leave them smoked, you will not see a more entertaining live Drums N’ Bass / Jungle Performance.
