Our vacation in Yosemite
Actually these pictures are just from the day of the hike to Half Dome from the Yosemite Valley
Distance: 14.0 Miles (roundtrip)
Starting Elevation: 4,040 feet
Ending Elevation: 8,836 feet
Elevation Gain: 4,796 feet
Here is a view from the vista point, on the way into the valley.

Contlemplating life, the day before the hike. We knew this would be a difficult journey.

From left to right, Carrie, JenBen, Brian, David, and Josh
We left around 5:30am. By 7:30 we had made a great deal of progress, and could see our stopping point for lunch in the distance.
We reached the falls, and I crossed the river to catch a view of everyone from the other side.
The water in the rivers up there was so clear, you could see the fish swimming.
Needless to say a few of us jumped in the cool water on the way back down that afternoon.
As we got higher and higher up the mountain, we could finally see the dome, from the other side even.
Field Goal!!!
A view from just below the Dome. Anybody feel like walking this plank?
One of the final legs to the top, this steep, rocky stairway. Josh and Carrie looking back.
And here's the monster itself. No, those are not ants up there.
JenBen looking back, on the final trek to the top. This is climbing up the dome itself.
The entire trip lasted about 14 hours. We returned home before sundown, barely. This trip was one that I will never
forget. A week with some of my closest friends, beautiful scenery, and unforgettable memories. I can't wait to go it again!!
A final look at where we were heading. Nick, Brian, Troy, Jen, and Josh. It was fun guys!!
